How to replace brake light bulb for BMW 5 Series (E39)

Model years: 1995 - 2004
Brake light is a lamp located at the rear light cluster of the car, which emits red light each time driver steps on the brake pedal. In other words, it is the sign, that the vehicle is about to throttle down or come to a complete stop. Appropriate condition of brake lights is an essential subject to make sure slowing down the vehicle is easily observable by others. As a consequence of burned out brake light bulb, other drivers might not detect quick speed reductions in time and the vehicles might collide. When noticed, that non of the two brake lights emit light, do not think twice and replace the bulb. Just before mending inoperative brake light, be sure you buy an appropriate bulb.

The life-time of a bulb is limited. Sooner or later, it will burn out and will have to be replaced. Bulbs, made of high quality materials, tend to last longer. It's recommended to use well known brand replacement bulbs.

If bulb burns out right after installation, your vehicle might have a problem inside electrical system - have it checked by auto electrician.
