How to replace brake light bulb for BMW X3 five-door wagon (E83)

Model years: 2003 - 2010
Brake light is a lamp section fitted at the rear-end of the car, that comes on in red whenever driver manipulates brake pedal. Express differently, is it alert, that the driver is going to reduce the speed or will terminate moving at all. Appropriate condition of brake lights is a responsibility of a driver so that others can easily predict you are about to stop the vehicle. If the brake lights of the vehicle are not working, the driver from behind will likely be less observant if the facing car is slowing down , leading to rear-end damage. If non of the two brake lights emit light, do not postpone and replace the bulb in the short run. Before getting ready to fix dead brake light, assure you purchase a suitable bulb.

The life-time of a bulb is limited. Sooner or later, it will burn out and will have to be replaced. Bulbs, made of high quality materials, tend to last longer. It's recommended to use well known brand replacement bulbs.

If bulb burns out right after installation, your vehicle might have a problem inside electrical system - have it checked by auto electrician.
