Audi A2 (8Z) battery replacement

Model years: 1999 - 2005
Car battery is one of the basic components in vehicle's electrical system. In principle, it is a container for electricity, which is a driving force for electric-powered mechanisms inside the car. So, it's important, that the battery is maintained in a properly operating condition. Notwithstanding, battery is an expiring unit and will run dry after a period of time irreversibly. In other words, chemical processes inside the battery will terminate, resulting in no electrical energy created. Battery's lifespan roughly lasts 3 - 5 years, after which it becomes incapable of being charged. This is the time, when new battery installation is needed.

It could be, that battery will experience loss of electricity, due to soiled connection points. After a certain period of time, battery terminals can get covered by white powder (corrosion), what explains bad connection contacts. This is the reason why the battery cannot be re-charged by alternator. Finally, it will run flat and become useless in providing electric energy. Eliminating soil from cable and battery connections, might recover the battery to its original state and prepare it ready to be used again.

The battery might also become exhausted, if the vehicle was left unused for some time. In such case, recharging the battery will likely recover its efficiency. To initiate a recharge, you will need a battery charger.
