How to replace turn signal bulb for Audi A4 (B6)
Model years: 2000 - 2006
Vehicle turn signals or directional indicators are twinkling lights, mounted two or more at each side of the vehicle. These lights should be handled responsibly to inform other road users, that the car is about to stop/start moving or change movement direction. It's essential turn signals are triggered whenever required, thus alerting others about planned actions on a driven vehicle. Because of this, all turn signal lights should perform well. Commonly, the origin of a defective turn indicator is an idle bulb, that is possible to identify without stepping out of a vehicle: when turn signal of the failing side is in operation, the flashing rate of a relative indicator in the dashboard will be increased, if there is a non-working bulb on a specific side.
The life-time of a bulb is limited. Sooner or later, it will burn out and will have to be replaced. Bulbs, made of high quality materials, tend to last longer. It's recommended to use well known brand replacement bulbs.
If bulb burns out right after installation, your vehicle might have a problem inside electrical system - have it checked by auto electrician.

How to replace turn signal bulb:

To access front turn signal bulb, headlight cluster has to be removed. First step, lift the hood:

Loosen bolts "1" and "2":

To remove the headlight, unplug the wiring (3):

Remove turn signal light bulb holder (1) by turning it counter-clockwise and pulling out:

Remove turn signal light bulb by turning it counter-clockwise and pulling out:

To access rear turn signal bulb, open the trunk:

Locate circular cover (1) and open it with the help of a flat head screw driver:

Loosen screw (1):

Rear light cluster is attached to the body with two plugs (marked as "1"):

To dismount the lights cluster, carefully pop out the plugs by slipping your fingers under the lights cluster and pulling it at the positions "1" and "2":

Unplug wiring ("1"). Separate bulbs holder from lights cluster by releasing retainers "2" and "3", pushing them to arrows direction:

Replace bulb marked "1" for a turn signal light:
